Hello,

Well I have to say we were lucky here in York County SC. A while back some local animal rights folks were realy trying to make it hard for dog owners here in my county. They were asking the County Council to ban dog tethering. That is a major problem for me as tethering is the most commonly used method of dog containment It is also my opinion that tethering is the best method of dog containemt. But I say that it should be at the animal owners desgretion. They would know what suits the animal best. I think these animal rights folks had good intentions to help dogs, But elimanating tethering was not something I could handle. They passed new Animal Control Ordiances here, & tethering was regulated but still allowed. I feel that the animal rights folks targeting tethering was going after country dogs. The dogs that live out in the county, not in the city. I also feel it targets large breed dogs; Or dogs that are housed outdoors on the earth where animals were intended to live. Anti-tethering should be considered a form of BSL. Or as I have heard it called "Back Door BSL" Below are some links to local papers and television news stations about what went on here in our area. Hello,

My name is Joseph. I am a male, 27yrs old, & happily married. My wife's name is Tiffany. We have a 1 year old daughter named Hailey. I am employed at a wharehouse in the shipping department. I have been owning dogs since I was 17yrs old. My family had dogs, cats, horses, cows, & chickens my entire life. I have always loved animals. The breed of dog I keep is American Pit Bull Terriers. I am a responsible dog owner. I am a dog show person. I enjoy showing my dogs in conformation dog shows. I travel the east coast showing my dogs at different shows. I am a member of the Palmetto State American Pit Bull Terrier Club, an ADBA club. I am also a member of The Upstate South Carolina American Pit Bull Terrier Club, an AADR club. My life may not be for everyone, but it suits me fine. I love my life, & would not trade it for another.
